REVIEW OF ENVIRONMENTAL ERGONOMICS AND WORK SAFETY ASPECTS IN THE MEDICAL RECORD ROOM OF TIARA HOSPITAL, BEKASI

Abstract

This study aims to assess the implementation of environmental ergonomics and workplace safety in the medical records room of RS Tiara Bekasi, considering the importance of these factors in reducing workplace accidents, improving worker welfare, and enhancing efficiency and productivity. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, direct measurement, and survey questionnaires distributed to medical records staff. The results of the study show that the lighting in the medical records unit is adequate to support the staff's work, but the lighting in the medical records document storage room is still uneven, which can affect work efficiency and quality. Additionally, the medical records room door that cannot be locked poses a high risk to document security, even though there are staff on duty 24 hours a day. This situation allows unauthorized access to sensitive documents, potentially leading to theft, document damage, and patient privacy violations. Therefore, this study recommends improving the lighting in the patient registration room to meet the recommended minimum standards and enhancing the security system, including ensuring that the medical records room door can be properly locked and considering the use of additional security technologies such as CCTV and access control systems. Thus, this study provides a significant contribution to scientific knowledge in the field of environmental ergonomics and workplace safety in medical records rooms, which is expected to be applied to improve safety and comfort in other healthcare facilities.
